The Bang Switch is a community for firearms enthusiasts by firearms enthusiasts. Make no mistake about it, WE LOVE FIREARMS. We’re not a bunch of MBA’s that were sitting around one night talking about how we could make a bunch of money talking about guns. Nope, we’re the knuckle dragging, trigger pullers your mom warned you about. Our goal is to make The Bang Switch the premier online resource for all things that are loud, sharp, pointy or may explode.
Tim (aka MAC)
MAC is the owner of the Military Arms Channel and has been an avid shooter his entire life. His first firearm was a Marlin 60 .22 rifle that was given to him by his Uncle when he was 12 years old. His first centerfire firearm was a Colt AR15 A2 Sporter II that he tricked his mother into buying for him when he was a junior in high school. He told her it was a .22 rifle, and it technically is… sort of.
MAC started gravitating towards military type firearms early in life which inspired him to join the Marines at the age of 17. While in the Marines MAC served in a Security Forces Company at NSB Bangor in Washington State. While stationed at NSB Bangor as a nuclear weapons security guard he learned about various military and SWAT type tactics through training offered by the command and through collaboration with local law enforcement agencies such as Seattle SWAT.
MAC’s interest in firearms continued to grow after leaving the Marines and today he enjoys gun writing and vblogging. MAC has done work for Guns & Ammo, covering Military and Law Enforcement products at SHOT Show and is a featured writer for Shotgun News in their new publication Be Ready!

Matt has been a full time deputy sheriff since 1996 working for a department that serves a mostly urban county with a population of 1.4 million people. Most of his career has been as a patrol cop, although he spent a few years working corrections and a specialized administrative job. He has been to numerous tactical firearms classes throughout his career, he is a court recognized firearms expert, he is a certified firearms instructor, and he is the go-to guy when coworkers have a firearms question.
Matt’s father taught him to shoot at the age of 12 and he still owns the well-worn Remington model 514 .22 single shot rifle that he learned to shoot with. Matt is an avid shooter and enjoys taking as many firearms skills courses as he can. In addition to shooting, Matt collects historically significant firearms and has an affinity for both the history and design aspects of guns.
Matt began his public writing “career” on his personal (now defunct) blog page, which eventually resulted in the opportunity to write for a political blog where he wrote political and pro-Second Amendment commentary. In June, 2013 he began writing actual firearms and gear reviews here at The Bang Switch, where he looks forward to spending more time writing about one of his lifelong interests. More recently, and thanks to his exposure here, Matt began writing as a freelance contributor for Harris Publications, publishers of several guns and gear related magazines.

Destinee is an avid shooter, gun writer (freelance and for her blog), and produces fun videos for her firearms-based YouTube channel, Fateofdestinee, and for YoungGunsTV.com. When she’s not shooting or researching for her next article, she loves reading fiction, running, and watching movies. At the end of the day, she’s a girl next door who shoots, writes, loves her dog, and reviews guns and gear… with a twist.
